Pain points of soft starters for mine crushers

The soft starters that are matched with mine crushers face special pain points different from those in ordinary industrial scenarios in harsh working conditions. These pain points not only affect the operational efficiency of the equipment but may also lead to significant downtime losses.

1.Hardware failure caused by excessive dust

Performance: The dust concentration at the mining crushing site is extremely high (such as in the stone crushing workshop). Dust accumulates in the heat dissipation holes of the soft starter or on the circuit board, resulting in a decrease in heat dissipation efficiency. Long-term dust accumulation can easily cause damage to the circuit board.

Reason: The PCB circuit board has not undergone three-proof coating (moisture-proof, dust-proof, and salt spray-proof) treatment, and the vibration buffering structure is missing.

Solution: The automatic spraying equipment is used to apply three-proof paint, which has a small error, wide coverage, can effectively prevent moisture and dust, and extend the service life.

2. Excessive humidity causes the screws to rust

Performance: If iron screws are not treated for rust prevention or the thickness of the treatment layer is insufficient, the protective layer is prone to wear or corrosion penetration, exposing the base iron. Such screws are likely to rust.

Solution: 304 stainless steel screws were used. After a 72-hour salt spray test, there was no change, effectively solving the pain points of iron screws such as easy rusting, cracking and poor contact.

3. Overheat protection of the soft starter when the ambient temperature is too high

Performance: The overheat protection of a soft starter is usually set at 85℃. Operating above 85℃ can easily damage key components such as thyristors. When the ambient temperature is too high, if the temperature rise of the soft starter is very high, it is easy to trigger the protection mechanism.

Solution: Use high-speed fans and select high-performance thyristors. After multiple temperature rise tests, the temperature rise does not exceed 40 ° C at 40 ° C.
